[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Jong-guk] LAFC snapped a three-game MLS skid with a 1-0 win over Seattle and will head into the World Cup break.
On the morning of the 25th (Korean time) in Los Angeles, LAFC beat Seattle 1-0 in the 15th round of the 2026 MLS season. The victory halted a three-match slide and was the club’s first MLS win in five matches. LAFC moved to 7-3-5 (24 points) and will enter the World Cup break in fifth place in the Western Conference.
Dos Santos started Son Heung-min as the lone striker, with Bouanga and Martinez working the wings. Tilman, Shuaniere and Delgado held down the midfield, while Segura, Long, Porteus and Hollingshead formed the back line. Harshal was in goal.
LAFC had trouble breaking down Seattle’s defense for most of the match, but Tilman finally broke the deadlock in the 86th minute. Boyd delivered a low cross from the right, Tilman raced into the box and finished with a left-footed shot past the goalkeeper to secure the win.
Son played the full 90 minutes and fired seven shots, two on target — the most he’s attempted in a single MLS match this season — but he couldn’t find the net. Son remains scoreless in MLS this season as he heads to the World Cup.
After the game, Dos Santos told the LA Times and other outlets, “Our style of play isn’t a secret. There’s no need to hide it. Forwards must contribute defensively. The world’s best teams want forwards who move actively. I want our team to play with energy. When we have the ball, players should be confident and make runs into the space behind the defense.” He added that the club will pursue opportunities in the transfer market to better align the squad with their desired style.
Looking back on the first half of the season, Dos Santos said that when the team executes its tactics, it shows consistency. “We need to use that experience to identify our weaknesses and figure out what the squad needs,” he said, noting that several positions clearly require improvement and that the transfer window offers a chance to address those gaps.
