When asked whether he prefers goals or assists, Son said, \”Honestly, I want to score. I saw Palencia say in an interview that he wants to help me get goals. Everyone’s working hard, so I can’t complain — it’s up to me.\”
He defended coach Dos Santos, saying, \”This isn’t the coach’s problem. I have a good relationship with him and we talk almost every day. I stop by his office and we sit together before and after training. We have a great relationship. He’s a good man. I see a lot of criticism of the coach, and that seems harsh. I want us to get a positive result before the World Cup break and finish on a high note.\”
On representing Korea at the World Cup, Son called it \”an indescribable feeling\” and \”a dream come true.\” He added, \”This will be my fourth World Cup, but it feels like my first. I want to have an amazing experience at this tournament.\”
