[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] Lee Jung-hoo (San Francisco Giants) was pulled from the game with back spasms after recording a hit in his fifth straight contest.
Lee started in right field and batted leadoff for the Giants in their road game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 19 (Korean time). He went 1-for-2.
The hit extended his hitting streak to five games and raised his season batting average from 0.266 to 0.268 (48-for-179).
In the top of the first, Lee led off against Arizona starter Zac Gallen and flew out to left field.
In his second plate appearance, in the top of the third with one out and a runner on second, he singled to put runners at the corners. The Giants scored on a sacrifice fly by Luis Arraez, but Lee did not come around to score.
Lee was unexpectedly replaced by Will Brennan before the bottom of the fourth. Mercury News reporter Justice Delos Santos reported that Lee exited the game with back spasms.
The Giants fell to the Diamondbacks, 2-12.
