[MyDaily = Reporter Noh Chan-hyuk] The Cheongju KB Stars took a major step toward a title run, beating Yongin Samsung Life in Game 2 despite missing Park Ji-su.
On the 24th at Cheongju Gymnasium, the KB Stars downed Samsung Life 59-51 in Game 2 of the BNK Financial 2025-2026 Women’s Professional Basketball finals.
With victories in both Games 1 and 2, KB Stars now need just one more win in the remaining three games to secure their third overall championship. Teams that have opened the finals with back-to-back wins have historically closed it out every time (17-of-17). Samsung Life, meanwhile, is staring at the brink of elimination.

Even without regular-season MVP Park Ji-su, sidelined with an ankle injury, KB Stars plugged the gap. Heo Ye-eun led the offense with 18 points, while Kang Yi-seul produced a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double.
Samsung Life got strong efforts from Bae Hye-yun (16 points, 7 rebounds), Lee Hae-ran (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Kang Yu-rim (12 points, 11 rebounds). Still, the team made just one three-pointer and suffered from a lack of perimeter support.

KB Stars opened the second quarter on a 25-13 run, but their offense stalled afterward and Samsung Life fought back to take the lead. The third quarter remained tight, with neither side able to create much separation.
The game ultimately tilted in the fourth. Kang Yi-seul and Heo Ye-eun stepped up offensively to push KB ahead. With 2:42 left, Yang Ji-su’s basket made it 55-49, and Samsung Life lost its final push when Lee Hae-ran fouled out midway through the quarter.
