Former Major League player Ji-man Choi has signed with the Ulsan Whales, a civic professional baseball club in South Korea. The Whales said they reached an agreement and will hold an introductory ceremony on the 27th, after which Choi will join the team. He signed a one-year contract worth 30 million KRW (approximately $22,500), on the same terms as his Whales teammates. After time in the minor leagues and a return to Korea, Choi enlisted for social service in May of last year. He was granted an early discharge in August following a knee injury and has been preparing for a comeback since. Ulsan manager Jang Won-jin said the team will evaluate Choi’s physical condition before deciding when he will make his first appearance. #UlsanWhales #ChoiJiMan Yonhap News TV inquiries and tips: KakaoTalk/LINE jebo23, Park Ji-eun (run@yna.co.kr)
