[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Geon-ho] Troy Parrott reportedly wants to return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer — even if the club is relegated.
UK outlet TeamTalk reported on the 21st (KST) that a Spurs insider says the former striker is keen to rejoin the team this summer, regardless of whether Tottenham drop to the Championship.
Tottenham’s situation looks dire. After 33 Premier League matches the club has 7 wins, 10 draws and 16 losses for 31 points, sitting 18th and staring down the threat of relegation.
Tottenham, still without a league win in 2026, recently appointed Roberto De Zerbi as manager, but the team has yet to string together wins. On the 19th they conceded a stoppage-time goal to Georginio Rutter and were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Brighton & Hove Albion.
Since their promotion to the top flight in 1978-79, Spurs have never been relegated to the second tier. This season, however, they face that very possibility.

Still, one player reportedly wants to come back: Troy Parrott, now at AZ Alkmaar. A Tottenham academy product, Parrott had loan spells at Millwall, Ipswich, MK Dons, Preston and Excelsior but struggled to break into Spurs’ first team, making just four senior appearances before moving to AZ in July 2024.
Parrott has thrived in the Netherlands. He scored 20 goals in 47 appearances in his first season, and this campaign he has been exceptional — 30 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances.
TeamTalk reports Tottenham inserted a 20% sell-on clause when they sold Parrott to AZ. With his current market value estimated around €25 million (roughly 43 billion KRW / about $26.75 million), Spurs could potentially re-sign him at a relative discount.
Alasdair Gold of Football.London wrote on the 20th that Parrott would welcome another chance to wear a Tottenham shirt and prove himself, regardless of the club’s league status. Gold added that Parrott has always wanted to make it at Spurs, and that hasn’t changed while he’s been away.
That said, Tottenham would still face stiff competition to bring him back. TeamTalk names Napoli, Real Betis, Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax among the clubs tracking him.
