SK vs Gas Corporation: How a Nail-Biting Overtime Victory Keeps SK in 2nd Place Race

[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] Seoul SK held off a late charge from Daegu Korea Gas in overtime to keep itself in the hunt for second place.

On April 4, at Jamsil Student Gymnasium, SK beat Korea Gas 106-102 in a 2025-2026 LG Electronics Pro Basketball regular-season home game.

The win snapped SK’s losing streak. SK improved to 32-20 and stayed third, narrowing the gap to second-place Anyang Jeonggwanjang (34-18) to two games.

Daegu Korea Gas fell to 16-37 and remained ninth.

Kim Nak-hyeon paced SK with 26 points, and Jamil Wony added 22 points and 14 rebounds to fuel the victory.

For Korea Gas, Sam Joseph Bellangel scored 27 and Ra Gun-ah posted 23 points and 17 rebounds in a strong effort, but it wasn’t enough.

SK dominated the first quarter. Early on, Wony, Daniel and Kim Nak-hyeon hit consecutive 3-pointers, and a dunk from Daniel pushed the momentum further.

SK sank eight 3s in the opening period to build a lead. Korea Gas tried to respond with scoring from Bellangel, but SK closed the quarter up 31-18.

Korea Gas answered in the second. Jung Seong-woo jumpstarted the comeback with scoring inside and out, and Bellangel, Ra Gun-ah and Kim Guk-chan all hit 3-pointers to quickly cut into the deficit.

SK replied with an outside shot from Kim Hyeong-bin, but Korea Gas ended the half on a run, with Bellangel and Ra Gun-ah scoring in succession to make it 54-51 at intermission in favor of SK.

The third quarter remained tight. Jung Seong-woo trimmed the margin to one with a 3 and free throws, but Kim Nak-hyeon and Wony answered with back-to-back long-range baskets.

Korea Gas briefly seized control after Bellangel’s 3, with support from Kim Guk-chan and Jung Seong-woo, but Tolentino’s perimeter shooting kept SK ahead.

SK opened the fourth leading 76-72. Kim Nak-hyeon scored eight straight points to spearhead the offense, while Korea Gas got hot from Shin Seung-min.

In a seesaw stretch, SK regained the lead on Wony’s scoring, and Jung Seong-woo missed all but one of his free throws for Korea Gas.

With 10 seconds left, An Young-jun made both free throws, but Bellangel drilled a 3 with two seconds remaining to force overtime.

In overtime, SK pulled away. Kim Nak-hyeon’s scoring and Wony’s free throws put SK in front, and the team repeatedly drew fouls to extend its lead at the line.

Korea Gas responded with another Bellangel 3, but An Young-jun answered immediately with a 3 of his own. Free throws from Wony and Kim Hyeong-bin iced the game as SK closed out a 106-102 win.
