[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] The Hanwha Eagles extended their winning streak with a 9-3 road victory over the Doosan Bears.
Hanwha beat Doosan 9-3 on April 4, 2026, at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul in a Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League matchup.
The win pushed Hanwha to 4-3 and up to fourth place. Doosan fell to 1-5 and into last place after dropping their fourth straight game.
Starter Wang Yencheng turned in a strong outing for Hanwha, going 6 1/3 innings, allowing five hits, striking out four, issuing two walks and surrendering three runs (none earned) to pick up his second win of the season.
Offensively, Leody Taveras Peraza supplied a three-hit game, and Ha Ju-seok finished with multiple hits and three RBIs to spearhead the attack.
Doosan starter Kwak Bin struggled, lasting 4 2/3 innings while giving up seven hits, striking out four, issuing five walks and allowing six runs (three earned), taking his first loss of the year.
Hanwha pounced early. In the top of the first, O Jae-won opened with a single and Peraza followed with a double to put runners on second and third with no outs. Moon Hyun-bin then ripped a two-run double to grab the early lead.
With one out and a runner on second, Kang Baek-ho chased Kwak’s first-pitch fastball and drove an RBI single to right, pushing the lead to 3-0.
Doosan couldn’t solve Wang. The Bears failed to reach base through three innings, and while Park Jun-soon reached on an infield single in the fourth, a failed steal squandered the chance.
Hanwha stretched the margin in the fifth. Peraza singled to right and Moon drew a walk to set up a 1-2, bases-loaded situation after a grounder toward the second baseman produced a fielding error.
With one out and the bases loaded, Chae Eun-sung hit a sacrifice fly to left for one run, Ha Ju-seok followed with an RBI single to center, and after Choi Jae-hoon drew a walk, Lee Do-yoon was hit by a pitch that forced in another run, giving Hanwha a 6-0 lead.
Doosan finally answered in the bottom of the fifth. Ahn Jae-seok doubled and Yang Seok-hwan walked to create a one-out, first-and-second opportunity. Park Chan-ho hit a grounder to short that led to Yang being thrown out at second, but Park Ji-hoon later drew a throwing error from the shortstop that produced a run.
With two outs and runners on first and second, Yun Jun-ho added an RBI single to left, trimming the deficit to 6-2.
Hanwha responded in the sixth. Peraza’s double set up two outs and a runner on second, and Kang Baek-ho delivered an RBI single. After Chae Eun-sung’s follow-up hit, Ha Ju-seok ripped a two-run double to extend the lead to 9-2.
Doosan added one in the seventh. With one out and a runner on second after Ahn Jae-seok’s single, Park Chan-ho’s infield single and another shortstop error by Lee Do-yoon produced one more run for the Bears.
The rally wasn’t enough. Doosan couldn’t cut the gap further, and Hanwha closed out the 9-3 win.
