[Sports Today reporter Shin Seo-young] The Doosan Bears handed the Lotte Giants their first loss of the preseason, snapping Lotte’s unbeaten run.
On March 20 at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan, Doosan defeated Lotte 4-1 in a 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League exhibition game.
Doosan avenged a 3-10 loss from the day before and improved to 6-2 in exhibition play. Lotte fell to 5-2-1, ending its undefeated preseason stretch.
Starter Lee Young-ha earned the win, tossing four innings while allowing two hits, issuing four walks, striking out one and surrendering one run.
Offensively, Cameron set the tone with an early two-run homer. Ahn Jae-seok contributed a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI and a run scored.
Lotte starter Kim Tae-kyun took the loss, working three innings with two hits (one a home run), six strikeouts and two runs allowed.
Doosan grabbed momentum with the long ball. In the top of the first, leadoff hitter Park Chan-ho struck out on a full count. Jung Soo-bin reached on an infield single to third, and after Kim In-tae struck out for the second out, Cameron turned on Kim Tae-kyun’s third pitch — a 142 km fastball — and drove it over the outfield wall for a two-run shot.
Lotte responded in the bottom of the second. Lee Young-ha lost command and issued consecutive walks to Yoo Kang-nam, Kim Min-sung and Lee Ho-jun to load the bases with nobody out. Jang Du-seong followed with an RBI single to center, scoring Yoo Kang-nam and trimming the deficit. But with the bases still loaded, Han Tae-yang hit into a double play and No Jin-hyuk grounded out, and Lotte couldn’t add another run.
Doosan regained control in the fourth. With one out and the bases empty, Cameron drew a walk and swiped second. After Yang Seok-hwan struck out for the second out, Ahn Jae-seok laced an RBI double into left-center to bring home Cameron. O Myung-jin added an RBI single on the next at-bat, pushing Doosan’s lead to 4-1.
From there, both teams settled into a pitchers’ duel and neither side scored again.
After being retired in order from the third through the sixth innings, Lotte finally produced a threat in the bottom of the seventh when Lee Ho-jun doubled, but the following hitters failed to capitalize and the run never came.
Doosan turned to Kim Taek-yeon to close out the game in the ninth. He retired Son Seong-bin, Lee In-han and Kang Seung-gu in order to seal a 4-1 victory.
