Jensen Huang to visit South Korea next week; talks on semiconductors and AI cooperation expected

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to visit South Korea next week.

Yonhap reported on May 28 that Huang will attend NVIDIA’s annual AI conference, GTC Taipei 2026, in Taipei and is expected to travel to South Korea afterward.

Industry observers are watching to see whether his visit will bring discussions with Korean chipmakers on high-bandwidth memory (HBM), next-generation AI accelerators and foundry partnerships. Despite NVIDIA’s lead in AI accelerators, analysts say collaboration with Korean firms on HBM, advanced packaging and foundry services will be important going forward.

Arrest warrant sought for subcontractor employee in LG Electronics knife attack

During police questioning, A reportedly said he had been routinely belittled and ignored by the victims and became enraged after receiving a dismissal notice that morning.

After Starbucks, KBS faces ‘tank’ controversy; producer’s contract terminated

KBS came under fire after the word \”tank\” appeared in a video uploaded to one of its YouTube channels.

On May 26, the YouTube channel KBS Entertain: Kkalkkal TV posted videos titled \”Shim Hyung-rae’s tank imitation\” and \”Shim Hyung-rae almost hospitalized after imitating a tank in front of the captain.\” The clips feature comedian Shim Hyung-rae’s past variety show segments, and critics said the unrelated use of the word \”tank\” sparked the backlash.

The criticism intensified after Starbucks Korea drew complaints for using phrases such as \”Tank Day\” and the onomatopoeic \”Taak on the desk!\” in a tumbler discount campaign, prompting further public scrutiny of the KBS channel.

The channel said the clip should have used \”Hulk\” instead of \”tank,\” but a staff member failed to catch the mistake during review. It acknowledged the word choice was particularly inappropriate given the timing and said the system did not filter it out. The freelancer producer’s contract was immediately terminated under the agreement, the staff member was removed from duty, and an internal investigation is underway in accordance with the channel’s rules.
