[iNews24 reporter Kim Da-woon] A principal at an elementary school in Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province, is facing criticism after he circulated a wedding invitation for his already-married son to school staff.

News1 reported on the 30th that A, the principal who is due to retire this August, recently shared his son’s wedding invitation in the school’s staff group chat.
The invitation stated that A’s son planned a traditional ceremony at a cultural center in Jeonju and included bank account numbers for both the groom’s and bride’s sides.
A wrote that the ceremony would be a small family event and asked staff to understand that they could not be invited in person.
However, when staff members checked the venue, they found no such wedding was scheduled.
Moreover, A’s son had already married last year.
After the controversy surfaced, A posted a notice announcing the wedding’s cancellation and apologized to all staff.
The South Jeolla Provincial Office of Education said it will complete its investigation and could decide on disciplinary measures as early as next week.
