Launch Silver Gardener public jobs and expand hospital-accompaniment services for seniors
Baek Young-hyun, the People Power Party’s Pocheon mayoral candidate, visited Yeongjung Senior College on the 2nd and declared, “I will build a city where seniors are happy,” signaling a firm commitment to senior welfare, employment and public health.
At the event, Baek greeted senior residents, outlined policies to respond to an aging society and plans to expand services for older adults, and heard a range of feedback from attendees.
Baek said, “We will strengthen welfare policies that seniors can actually feel in their daily lives.”
To reinforce elderly welfare policy in the sixth municipal administration, Baek proposed ▲creating Silver Gardener public jobs to convert vacant neighborhood lots into community gardens ▲expanding hospital-accompaniment and outreach health-management services for seniors ▲scaling up integrated medical and long-term care services ▲accelerating the completion of the Southern Senior Welfare Center ▲and broadening the dementia treatment and management cost support program (conversion project).
