On February 9, Damyang County in South Jeolla Province announced the signing of a business agreement with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) MCS Damyang branch and the Damyang Post Office. This collaboration aims to strengthen early detection and support for households facing welfare crises.
The agreement seeks to enhance the existing big data-centric detection system by leveraging the unique positions of electric meter readers and postal workers, who frequently interact with local residents. This approach is expected to establish a more rapid and effective crisis response mechanism.

Key components of the agreement include: swift reporting of crisis indicators, bolstering education and guidance systems for crisis situations, and improving collaborative models for identifying at-risk households.
The county plans to utilize a team of 29 individuals to strengthen the local care system and construct a comprehensive social welfare network.
Damyang County Mayor Jeong Cheol-won stated, “We will continue to partner with various organizations to create a thriving Damyang through proactive and preventive welfare measures.”
