The Yangpyeong Education Support Office in Gyeonggi Province has unveiled its strategic plan for education in 2026, marking a significant step towards educational innovation.
On the afternoon of June 6th, the office hosted a ‘2026 Yangpyeong Education Basic Plan Briefing’ at the Mulbit Theater in Yangpyeong Library. The event was attended by local educators and staff from the education support office.
The briefing was organized to share the vision of ‘Yangpyeong Education that Respects Diversity for All’ and to announce a tailored educational roadmap that fosters collaboration with the local community.
The event was structured in two parts.
In the first segment, Lee Sun-ho, a policy development officer from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, delivered a presentation on ‘Understanding the 2026 Gyeonggi Education Policy.’ Lee highlighted the core directions and values of Gyeonggi’s education system during this transformative period.
The second part featured Education Director Yeo Mi-kyung, who outlined the key objectives for Yangpyeong’s education in 2026. The plan encompasses four primary policies: Student Growth and Competence Education, Customized Education through Regional Cooperation, Future-Oriented Learning Expansion, and School-Centered Administrative Support. These policies aim to concentrate all administrative resources on bolstering school environments.
Furthermore, the plan introduced distinctive initiatives for Yangpyeong, including on-site character education promoting inclusivity and consideration, and programs to develop global competencies that embrace diversity and foster international communication. These efforts are designed to reinforce the unique identity of local education.
During the event, department heads from both education and administration sectors provided detailed explanations of the implementation plans for major initiatives, enhancing stakeholders’ understanding of the policies.
Education Director Yeo Mi-kyung emphasized, “This comprehensive plan serves as a robust foundation to nurture our children’s diverse talents and help them shape their futures. We are committed to creating an administration that actively listens to and supports our educators, with the goal of establishing Yangpyeong as a leading center for future-oriented education.”
