\”I will ensure the voices of Anseong residents are reflected in policy.\”
Democratic Party mayoral candidate Kim Bora opened her campaign office on Bogaewonsam-ro in Anseong on the morning of the 9th, formally beginning her campaign for victory in the June 3 local elections.
She said she will build a new campaign culture centered on policy and hope, and she emphasized that Anseong needs a seasoned leader to complete the changes already underway without interruption.
Notably, Kim Yong — known as a close associate of President Lee Jae-myung and the former deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute — attended as chair of the supporters’ committee. Kim Yong said, \”Candidate Kim Bora is a key partner who can most successfully realize President Lee Jae-myung’s foundational social vision in Anseong.\”
Kim said, \”Anseong has been my whole life for 30 years,\” adding that the choice citizens made in 2022 created the \”Blue Anseong\” miracle.
She laid out core visions for a ninth elected term — an advanced-technology industrial city; a cultural-ecological tourism city; an AI-powered lifelong learning city; and an inclusive, balanced development city — and appealed, \”I want to make history with residents as South Korea’s first woman to win a third term as mayor.\”
The opening drew key Democratic Party figures, including Gyeonggi gubernatorial candidate Chu Mi-ae, and lawmakers Yoon Jong-gun, Kim Seung-won, Baek Hye-ryeon, Hong Ki-won, and Kim Hyun-jung, along with Anseong city and provincial assembly candidates, creating a \”One Anseong\” atmosphere. About 600 people, including members of the citizens’ campaign committee and other supporters, filled the venue and its surroundings, showing strong enthusiasm. Through the opening, the Democratic Party signaled it views Anseong as one of the key battlegrounds in southern Gyeonggi Province and is intensifying efforts to consolidate support.
