[Geumsan] Kim Bok-man, a four-term member of the Chungnam Provincial Council (People Power Party, Geumsan 2nd District), has announced his bid for a fifth term.
On the afternoon of the 9th, Kim officially opened his campaign office in Chubu-myeon, Geumsan County, marking the formal start of his campaign. Local officials, People Power Party members and residents attended the ceremony to show their support.
Kim said, \”With the authority of an experienced legislator, I will lead a major transformation in Geumsan,\” and identified disaster prevention, expanded transportation links and stronger agricultural support as his core pledges.
He said he will prioritize maintenance projects on key waterways — Manakcheon, Eomjeongcheon, Jinsancheon and Yudeungcheon — to establish a disaster-prevention system suited to the climate crisis and to make Geumsan a safer place for residents.
As part of his plan to improve transportation infrastructure, he intends to widen the Boksu–Jinsan road to four lanes to enhance access to nearby metropolitan areas such as Daejeon and to improve logistics flows.
He also stressed his commitment to strengthening support for Geumsan’s core industries, particularly the ginseng and medicinal-herb sector, along with broader agricultural assistance.
\”The ginseng and medicinal-herb industries are Geumsan’s pride and lifeline,\” Kim said. \”I will expand support for ginseng, herbal and livestock farmers, and actively increase provincial subsidies for production costs so farmers can focus on cultivation without worry.\”
He added, \”What Geumsan needs now is the seasoned skill and execution of an experienced professional rather than a novice’s enthusiasm. I will channel the networks and capabilities I have built over four terms into making Geumsan the premier city in Chungnam.\”
