[Cheonan] Jeong Seon-hee, a city councilor from the Democratic Party of Korea in Cheonan, has launched her second campaign in the Cha constituency. She said, \”Cheongryong-dong’s transformation now needs someone to finish it,\” adding, \”I will combine the enthusiasm of a first-term councilor with the seasoned competence of a re-elected official to deliver on residents’ promises.\”
Jeong said politics should be a safeguard for citizens’ lives, not a vehicle for the power of a select few. She emphasized that elected officials must address everyday concerns—ensuring children’s safety on school routes, easing traffic inconveniences, and supporting neighborhood businesses.
Jeong highlighted her \”policy completion\” approach as a core strength: after passing ordinances, she follows through to ensure the administration implements them. \”Ordinances are only the seed; true success is measured by change on the ground,\” she said, noting that she closely monitors whether the executive branch fulfills its role to raise the quality and impact of policy. She pointed to tangible, resident-centered outcomes, including the creation of Route 71, the introduction of walking-safety wardens, and the expedited disbursement of small-business support funds.
For this election, she laid out pledges across five priority areas: transportation, education, the economy, welfare, and energy. Her platform includes △introducing an EduBus service △installing a diagonal crosswalk at the five-way intersection in Samgeori Park △expanding the walking school-bus program (walking-safety wardens) citywide △deploying smart pedestrian-safety devices △continuing to pursue the establishment of Cheongsu Station △revitalizing the Wonsamgeori neighborhood commercial district △operating a 24-hour integrated care center △building a dedicated survival-swimming pool △and creating a resident-participation solar cooperative.
Jeong stressed, \”Anyone can make promises, but only those with a proven record can deliver results. I will add the practical skills of a re-elected official to the passion I brought as a first-term councilor.\”
