Song Sun-ho, the Democratic Party’s candidate for mayor of Changwon, has expanded his reach by rallying city and provincial assembly candidates into a “one-team” and winning endorsements from figures in the conservative camp.
On the 29th, Song convened a policy meeting at his campaign office with Changwon city and provincial assembly candidates to exchange residents’ concerns and local priorities.
At the meeting he stressed, “The mayor and councilors must act as one team to revive a stagnant Changwon,” underscoring the need for a unified campaign.
He pledged, “I will ensure the voices we gather on the ground are reflected in our platform and in city governance.”
“This election will determine the direction of Changwon and South Gyeongsang Province,” he added. “With the race this close, I will continue campaigning in the field until the end.”

Amid that internal consolidation, Lee Hyun-kyu, a former deputy mayor of Changwon who took part in the People Power Party primary, announced his support for Song on the 1st.
Lee said, “Changwon needs stable, responsible governance,” calling Song “the clean, trustworthy candidate best suited to normalize city administration.”
Song’s campaign thanked him “for choosing Changwon’s development over party lines” and pledged, “We will do our utmost to unite citizens and restore normal city governance.”
