[Herald Economy — Senior Reporter Park Jong-il] Jeon Seong-su, the People Power Party candidate for Seocho District mayor, met with Choi Ho-jeong, chair of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, and the two agreed to run a unified campaign to secure victory in the June 3 local elections.
Jeon, who had secured his party’s nomination for Seocho District mayor, visited the council chair’s office on Sejong-daero in Jung District at 2:00 p.m. on the 29th. He and Chair Choi spoke until 2:30 p.m., during which they reached the agreement.
The meeting effectively put to rest the tensions that arose during the intra-party contest and laid the groundwork for a united effort in the upcoming election.
“I came to pay my respects to Chair Choi, whom I competed with, to honor him and to bring our efforts together for Seocho’s development and the well-being of its residents,” Jeon said. “Chair Choi agreed to join as part of the ‘one team’ for both Seoul and Seocho.”
He added, “Chair Choi even saw me to the council entrance, which made the ‘one team’ spirit tangible. At Chair Choi’s urging, I will repay Seoul and Seocho residents with an overwhelming victory that delivers their happiness.”
