The Gwangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province concluded the final proceedings of the 9th council’s term on March 30.
According to the council, the second plenary session of the 323rd extraordinary meeting formally closed four years of legislative work.
At the plenary session, councilors approved 31 agenda items, including a partial amendment to the ordinance governing municipal council employees’ duties, and expedited consideration of measures directly affecting residents.
Over the course of its term, the 9th Gwangju City Council reviewed 879 agenda items in total; 279 of those were ordinances and resolutions proposed directly by council members.
Council Chairman Heo Gyeong-haeng expressed his gratitude to fellow council members and Secretariat staff for their efforts to build a council engaged with citizens over the past four years, and urged continued focus on citizen-centered administration to drive local development.
