Xiaomi EV Orders Surpass 40,000
Explosive Demand at Launch
Tesla와 경쟁 본격화

Xiaomi’s electric sedan, the SU7, is drawing a swift market response. Since launch, orders have exceeded 40,000 — a sign of a strong debut.
The new model went on sale March 19, and deliveries began just four days later. Early reservations topped 30,000 within days of the launch.
That sales velocity has helped Xiaomi quickly deepen its footprint in China’s crowded EV market.
Deliveries Began Immediately
Record Pace of Supply

Xiaomi began customer deliveries at launch, having ramped production in advance to stock units for immediate handover.
Within nine days, cumulative deliveries surpassed 7,000—a notably fast rollout by industry standards.
Total EV deliveries for March exceeded 20,000, reinforcing Xiaomi’s production and distribution capabilities.
Price Competitiveness Intact
Winning Consumer Choice

The new SU7 starts at about 219,900 yuan (about $31,951) (approximately 48,000,000 KRW (about $36,000)). The price is slightly higher than the previous model but remains aggressive for the segment.
That positioning puts pressure on competitors, including Tesla’s more expensive offerings.
More than 60% of buyers were switching or adding vehicles, and a significant portion purchased the SU7 without shopping alternatives — a sign of growing brand loyalty.
Safety and Technology Highlighted
Ambitious Growth Targets

Xiaomi is emphasizing the SU7’s safety credentials: the company says high‑strength materials make up more than 90% of the body structure.
The company also says it has reinforced battery safety and structural protection, underlining the model’s tech strengths.
Xiaomi has set an ambitious target of 550,000 vehicle sales for 2026, a sharp step up from the prior year.
The company also outlined plans for international launches. If the SU7 reaches overseas markets, it could emerge as a value-oriented alternative to Tesla in many regions.
