Hello — Habanabis here.
Hyundai Motor has unveiled the concept for its new mid-size pickup, the Boulder.

Vehicle details

The Boulder is built on a traditional body-on-frame architecture and prioritizes rugged, purpose-driven design. Hyundai positions the concept as a preview of its next-generation mid-size pickup, expressing a taste for extreme adventure and the freedom to explore through its design cues.
Development prioritized off-road enthusiasts while addressing broader customer needs, with the concept led by Hyundai Motor America’s design center.

The concept follows an “Art of Steel” design language. Its large glass areas and rectilinear, boxy proportions are optimized for off-road utility while maintaining an open, airy cabin feel.

The concept adds a fixed upper dual-pane roof window to improve daylighting and sightlines, useful for safari-style observation. It also features steep approach and breakover angles for technical trails and is designed to traverse shallow valleys and water crossings.
Hyundai equipped the Boulder with a real-time off-road guidance system that offers digital spotter assistance. The titanium exterior finish enhances depth and gloss, while a lattice structure between the low-profile roof rack and rails expands usable cargo volume.

The concept rides on large mud-terrain tires, incorporates integrated tow hooks, and uses reflective materials on the door handles for increased visibility. Practical touches include a fold-out tray table and other mission-ready features.
Conclusion

Because off-road components face frequent contact and wear, Hyundai used reinforced materials in vulnerable areas. Inside, frequent-use controls are physical knobs and buttons placed for natural reach, prioritizing intuitive, dependable operation. Hyundai has not confirmed a domestic launch, but the Boulder concept demonstrates a willingness to explore bold, utility-focused directions.
