The origin of the explosions has not yet been confirmed, and officials have not issued an official statement.
The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported three explosions in Bandar Abbas. Bandar Abbas is a major southern port and a strategic hub that hosts key Iranian navy and air force bases. Fars News Agency also reported similar noises near Sirik and Jask, both close to the Strait of Hormuz.
