What Caused the Recent Attack on the Navy Vessel in the Hormuz Strait? Insights from the Defense Ministry
Daniel Kim Views
The Ministry of National Defense dispatched a technical-analysis team to Dubai on the night of May 13 to investigate the strike on the vessel Namuho in the Strait of Hormuz. The ministry said on May 14 that the team was sent to determine the cause of the strike and to conduct scientific analysis. The team will carry out on-site inspections, perform forensic analysis of evidence, and coordinate with allied and partner nations to establish the facts and provide active support to the government’s joint response unit. Because the government plans to analyze engine debris from the attacking aerial vehicle domestically, the ministry’s technical team will concentrate on detailed on-site forensic work.
