[Herald Economy — Reporter Jo Yong-jik] Russia launched a large-scale bombing campaign across Ukraine overnight, producing multiple casualties.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on April 25 (local time) via social media that overnight strikes killed four people and wounded more than 30.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched 619 drones and 47 missiles from last night into the early morning hours.
The strikes focused on Dnipro and other areas including Odesa, Kharkiv and Chernihiv, hitting primarily civilian infrastructure such as residential buildings and energy facilities.
Zelensky said sanctions are needed to constrain Russia’s military-industrial capacity and that he is coordinating with the European Union to pursue them.
Russia has intensified its offensive, launching drones and missiles not only at dawn but also during daylight hours.
U.S.-mediated cease-fire talks between Russia and Ukraine have been suspended entirely amid the situation in the Middle East.
