A joint military-police task force probing the recent North Korean drone incursion has initiated a sweeping search and seizure operation. The operation targets several agencies, including the Military Intelligence Command and the National Intelligence Service.
The task force disclosed on Tuesday that they began executing search warrants at 18 locations, commencing around 0900 hours local time. The raids encompassed facilities of both the Military Intelligence Command and the National Intelligence Service.
Investigators are also scrutinizing three civilians suspected of launching drones into North Korea from the border region. These individuals now face not only charges related to aviation safety law violations but also accusations of general espionage under the criminal code.
The probe has widened to include three active-duty service members and one National Intelligence Service employee, all of whom are suspected of involvement in these unauthorized activities.
