Siheung City said on May 8 that on May 7 the Siheung Youth & Young Adult Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with the Gyeonggi Audience Media Center, part of the Audience Media Foundation, to strengthen media skills among the city’s teens and young adults.
The pact is designed to sharpen young residents’ creative content-production skills and to build a support system for media-based education and activities amid rapid changes in the digital landscape. At the signing ceremony, representatives from both organizations outlined major projects and their plans for collaboration, then toured the Gyeonggi center to review its training spaces and production facilities.
Under the agreement, the partners will connect professional instructors with media-education programs for youth and young adults and provide access to production gear—such as cameras and editing equipment—to encourage hands-on media activity.
Officials said the partnership is meaningful because it moves Siheung’s young people beyond passive media consumption, enabling them to express their ideas and stories through original content and to take part in creative production. Working with a specialized center, they added, will raise the quality of media education and create a foundation for sustained programming.
A spokesperson for the Siheung Youth & Young Adult Foundation said, “Through this agreement, we will help Siheung’s youth and young adults actively use media in a changing environment and gain hands-on experience producing creative content.” The spokesperson added that the foundation will continue expanding its network of community and professional partners to support youth development.
Both organizations said they will use the agreement as a starting point to deepen cooperation on media education and activity support and to strengthen Siheung youth and young adults’ media capabilities.
