[TV Daily reporter Choi Hana] ‘A Man Living with the King’ has topped the South Korean box office.
On April 3, the Korean Film Council’s box office database reported that the film drew 39,305 viewers on April 2, securing the No. 1 spot. Its cumulative admissions now stand at 15,821,426. Set in Cheongryeongpo in 1457, the film centers on a village chief who volunteers for exile to revive his town and a young, deposed king forced into banishment. ‘Project Hail Mary’ attracted 31,886 viewers that day, placing it at No. 2 with a total of 1,306,469 admissions. Ryan Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, who wakes alone in deep space with no memory and must embark on a last-ditch mission to save humanity from an existential threat. ‘Endgame Investigation’ pulled in 13,957 viewers and ranked No. 3, bringing its cumulative audience to 14,617. The crime drama follows Detective Jae-hyeok, recently reassigned to a rural post, who is given one final chance. He and rookie officer Jung-ho travel to Seoul for a make-or-break investigation to identify the real killer in a case involving two suspects. ‘The Last Song You Left’ drew 5,257 viewers, ranking No. 4 and bringing its total to 18,224. The coming-of-age romance charts Haruto, a boy who writes poetry, and Ayane, a girl who paints the world with song, as they complete both their music and their relationship. Rounding out fifth through tenth were: ‘Demon Slayer the Movie: Infinite Castle Arc’, ‘Detective Conan: The Magician of the Century’s End’, ‘Official HIGE DANDism Live at Stadium 2025’, ‘Hoppers’, ‘My Name Is’, and ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’.
