[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] Netflix faced backlash after filming a drama along Busan’s Gaegum Cherry Blossom Culture Path, with reports saying the shoot inconvenienced local residents.
On the 3rd, Yonhap News reported that crews filmed a Netflix series along the Gaegum Cherry Blossom Culture Path in Busanjin-gu for two nights, shooting from evening into the early morning starting on the 1st.
The Gaegum Cherry Blossom Culture Path is known as a popular local attraction. The production closed roughly 20 m (about 66 ft) of the main deck path to film.
Visitors who came to see the cherry blossoms at peak bloom were unable to access parts of the path and some of the well-known photo spots because of the shoot.
According to the report, the production company and the Busan Film Commission, which supported the location, did not obtain a separate permit; instead, they reportedly sought cooperation from the Busanjin District Office and the police.
On social media, users questioned whether municipal approval was sufficient and asked, “What makes filming so special?” Many criticized the production, calling it a “nuisance shoot.”
