On the 31st, the Korea Box Office Information System reported that ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ drew 60,585 viewers the previous day, bringing its total to 15,676,506. At this pace, it is closing in on ‘Extreme Job’ (16,266,338), the second-highest-grossing Korean film in history.
As of that report, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ trailed ‘Extreme Job’ by 589,832 admissions. The film has maintained strong weekly turnout — 2,476,118 in its fifth week, 1,838,155 in its sixth and 1,199,311 in its seventh — showing steady interest well beyond opening. Its final box-office ranking will hinge on audience trends in weeks eight and nine.

Meanwhile, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ is set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo and follows the young, deposed King Danjong after his exile, and the villagers of Gwangcheon-gol who take him in.
