Jung Woo Bids Farewell to BH Entertainment: How His Film ‘Jjanggu’ Marks a New Beginning

Since signing an exclusive deal in 2019, the actor and the agency have built deep mutual trust. Jung-woo will remain with BH Entertainment through the release of his directorial debut Jjanggu in 2026, ensuring their partnership concludes on a high note.

BH Entertainment said, \”We were honored to work with Jung-woo; our time together has been a meaningful journey. We will provide wholehearted support until his directorial debut Jjanggu reaches audiences.\” The agency added that it sincerely supports Jung-woo as he expands his creative pursuits and pledged continued trust and backing.

Jung-woo also expressed his gratitude to the agency he’s worked with for years. Insiders say both parties have been finalizing the arrangement on positive terms, framing the outcome not as a simple contract expiration but as an amicable, trust-based parting with special significance.

Over the years, Jung-woo has carved out a distinct place in Korean cinema with his candid charm and emotionally attuned performances. He first won widespread affection for his singular portrayal of the character Jjanggu in the 2009 film Baram (Wind), then solidified his presence with the \”Trash\” phenomenon in the 2013 tvN series Reply 1994.

Since then, he’s shown wide range across projects including C’est Si Bon, Himalaya, New Trial, Heungbu, The Neighbor, and Hot Blood, as well as the drama The Crazy X of This District. His performances—equally adept at comedy and pathos—have repeatedly resonated with audiences and reinforced his singular artistic identity.

As Jung-woo closes this chapter with BH Entertainment, he’s preparing for a new phase as a director. After a long collaboration marked by mutual support, attention is turning to his next move from this fresh starting point.

Meanwhile, Jjanggu, which Jung-woo directed and stars in, is scheduled to open in theaters on April 24.
