[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] The principal cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 shared their excitement about the sequel and about an upcoming visit to Korea.

Set for a worldwide theatrical release on April 29, the film prompted director David Frankel and the returning core cast to reflect on the emotional experience of reuniting for this follow-up.

Since its 2006 debut, The Devil Wears Prada has remained a beloved touchstone for many viewers. Now the story returns with The Devil Wears Prada 2, and the reunion of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci has already generated strong buzz and high expectations for their renewed ensemble chemistry.

Comments from the cast and director have only intensified interest. David Frankel, who once again directed, described the production as \”pure joy from the start.\” He said the process flowed smoothly from the very first table read and that the set was full of unexpectedly magical moments.

Anne Hathaway, back as Andy Sachs, recalled her first camera test, saying, \”It felt like multiple doors had opened. I felt 22 again, and it was also like bumping into an old friend from school—there was a strange, wonderful mix of nostalgia and surprise.\”

Meryl Streep, reprising Miranda Priestly—the formidable editor-in-chief of Runway—called her return after 20 years \”overwhelming.\” She remembered stepping out onto Sixth Avenue in New York and being met with a roar of applause the moment she got out of the car, a reminder of how enduring the film’s fanbase remains.

Emily Blunt, who plays Emily—Miranda’s former assistant turned luxury-brand executive—likened the project to a \”treasure trove of nostalgia,\” calling the chance to revisit the character \”pure magic.\” Stanley Tucci, returning as Nigel and still a steady presence beside Miranda, said he was thrilled to reunite with the original ensemble and welcomed the fresh energy brought by a host of new faces on set. With original members and newcomers joining forces, anticipation is building for the creative synergy that could make this sequel a worldwide hit.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 follows legendary Runway editor Miranda and Andy—who returns as a creative editor after two decades—as they cross paths again with Emily, now a luxury-brand executive. In a media landscape that has transformed since the original film, they each wager their careers to reclaim influence in the fashion world. The project reunites Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, with David Frankel directing, Elin Brosh McKenna penning the screenplay and Karen Rosenfelt producing, bringing much of the original creative team back on board. New characters will also expand the story.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 opens worldwide on April 29. Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway will travel to Seoul on April 8 to meet fans ahead of the release.
