[Sports Today reporter Im Si-ryeong] She closed the book on what she had believed was a once-in-a-century love. In Efficient Encounters of Singles, Moon Jung-hee confronts the truth about a relationship she once trusted.
In the episode that aired on the 29th, Son Jeong-a (Moon Jung-hee) uncovers a hidden truth about her husband Shin Ji-hoon (Choi Won-young). She decides to file for divorce and, with a dignified effort to right past wrongs, forces a turning point in their relationship.
Earlier, at Ji-hoon’s inauguration as hospital director, Jeong-a overhears colleagues and realizes that her relationship with Ji-hoon began before his wife’s death. The revelation leaves her reeling. That day, Jeong-a served Ji-hoon with divorce papers, formally ending the marriage she had believed to be the love of the century.
Jeong-a goes to the café where Ji-su (Lee Ki-taek) works and tells him she has filed for divorce. After confirming that her relationship with Ji-hoon began while Ji-su’s mother was undergoing chemotherapy, Jeong-a is the first to seek out Ji-su and offer a heartfelt apology. By facing the past and taking responsibility, she adds depth to Son Jeong-a’s character and leaves a heavy, lingering impression.
Moon Jung-hee delivers a nuanced portrayal of the cracks and awakening beneath Son Jeong-a’s outward composure. With delicate looks and subtle expressions, she captures the confusion and turmoil that accompany the moment Jeong-a learns the truth, giving the character real emotional texture. In the scene where Jeong-a calmly announces her divorce to Ji-su and offers a sincere apology, Moon conveys both bitterness and remorse, making Jeong-a’s shame over her mistake unmistakable. Through restrained, centered acting amid complex feelings, Moon deepens the narrative and naturally draws sympathy for Jeong-a.
Meanwhile, the drama Efficient Encounters of Singles, in which Moon Jung-hee reshapes relationships through a dignified choice, airs on JTBC on Saturdays at 10:40 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 p.m.
