Eom Hyun-kyung Returns to KBS with ‘Happy Our Good Day’: Insights into Her New Role and Family Dynamics

[Sports Today reporter Im Si-ryeong] Eom Hyun-kyung reflected on returning to KBS with the family drama Our Happy Day.
On March 30, KBS1 held an online press conference for its new daily series Our Happy Day. Director Lee Jae-sang and cast members Yoon Jong-hoon, Eom Hyun-kyung, Jung Yoon, Yoon Da-young, Kim Hye-ok, Sunwoo Jae-duk, Yoon Da-hoon, Moon Hee-kyung, Lee Sang-sook and Jung Ho-bin attended.
Our Happy Day is a multi-generational family melodrama that centers on a seemingly perfect man and a hapless woman whose volatile relationship ignites a life-or-death struggle, as each generation vies to be the protagonist of their own story.
At the press event, Eom said she was thrilled to be back on KBS. \”I’ve done a lot of revenge dramas,\” she said. \”So it’s a pleasure to take on a warm family story. I tried to make the character feel like an ordinary person you might meet in everyday life.\”
Eom portrays Jo Eun-ae, co-CEO of the startup Lucky Joy. She developed an AI assistant called \”Joy\” for seniors, but a partner’s betrayal costs her the company — and she must fight to win it back.
Asked about playing an AI developer, she admitted she wasn’t familiar with the field and has been learning on the job, asking questions as she prepares for the role.
Our Happy Day premieres tonight (March 30) at 8:30 p.m. KST on KBS1.
