[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] It has been 16 years since singer-actor Choi Jin-young’s death.
Choi Jin-young was found dead at his home on March 29, 2010. He was 39.
His older sister, actress Choi Jin-sil, died on October 2, 2008. His death roughly two years later deepened the family’s tragedy.
Choi debuted in 1990 with the film \”Yeah, Let’s Look at the Sky Sometimes\” and went on to appear in television dramas such as \”Our Heaven,\” \”City Men and Women,\” \”A Wife’s Scenery,\” \”Banguli\” and \”It’s Okay to Love.\” His film credits include \”Yeah, Let’s Look at the Sky Sometimes,\” \”A Distant Reunion\” and \”Gangster Class.\”
He also pursued a music career under the stage name SKY. His debut single \”Eternal\” helped him earn the 2000 Golden Disc Best New Artist award and the Korea Video Record Awards’ Best New Artist honor.
The remains of Choi Jin-young and his sister Choi Jin-sil are interred at Gapsan Park Cemetery in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province.
