[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Singer and actress Nana is scheduled to appear as a witness in the case involving a home invasion and subsequent assault.
According to an OSEN report published on March 28, Nana is set to testify at the third hearing for suspect A on charges of robbery and injury. The session is scheduled for April 21 at the Namyangju branch of the Uijeongbu District Court in Gyeonggi Province.
Prosecutors say the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Nov. 15 of last year, when the suspect allegedly broke into Nana’s home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, armed with a knife. He reportedly threatened Nana and her mother and caused injuries, including strangling the mother.
Police concluded that Nana and her mother acted in lawful self-defense when they subdued the intruder. The suspect nevertheless filed a complaint accusing them of attempted murder, but investigators cleared Nana and decided not to pursue charges against her.
Nana did not attend a previous hearing after filing a notice of absence. The court has since issued subpoenas for both her and her mother to appear as witnesses.
