[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Actor Lee Ji-yeon shared heartfelt remarks as the KBS1 daily drama Marie and the Odd Dads headed into its series finale.
Lee portrays Ahn Soo‑seon, a nurse in the obstetrics and gynecology unit at Eom Hospital, delivering a poised, committed performance. She inhabits a character who gives her all in every scene, demonstrating solid range and control. Lee charmed viewers as Kang Mari’s (Ha Seung-ri) devoted guardian angel, generated lively chemistry with resident doctor Pyo Do‑gi (Kim Young‑jae), and revealed a colder, more guarded side after feeling betrayed by her aunt Moon Sook‑hee (Park Hyun‑jung). Her layered portrayal helped energize the series.
Through her agency FNC Entertainment, Lee recalled that she was both nervous and excited on her first day on set. The senior cast and crew welcomed her warmly, which helped her settle in quickly. “I truly enjoyed the shoot and felt very happy. I’m grateful,” she said.
She added that to capture Ahn Soo‑seon’s effervescent, likable charm she worked closely with the director and many colleagues. Thanks to the viewers who supported the show, she was able to finish strong. She said she plans to keep working hard and hopes to return in projects that reflect her growth as an actress.
Lee has built a diverse résumé through numerous short‑form dramas, including Obsessive Marriage, Cross‑Dressing Secretary, Romantic Island, and Can’t Help It!, showcasing a wide acting spectrum. Since last year, with roles in MBN’s First Lady and Marie and the Odd Dads, she has begun to stake a firmer claim on the small screen and establish a distinct presence.
Meanwhile, the final episode of Marie and the Odd Dads will air on the 27th at 8:30 p.m. Interest is rising in Lee Ji‑yeon’s next steps as an actor who continues to demonstrate boundless potential across genres and platforms.
