She added that she doesn’t regret the shift and doesn’t feel particularly remorseful, but she does miss performing as a singer. \”I loved being on stage — concerts, events, music shows,\” she said, adding that she channels much of that energy into theater.
Ahn spoke warmly about theater’s appeal. \”The energy is different. Actors bring a quiet, concentrated intensity,\” she said. \”I do miss the thrill of the stage, but theater has largely filled that gap. I began performing in theater two years ago and haven’t taken a break since.\”
Discussing the play ‘그때도 오늘2’ (Ggeuttaedo Oneul 2), Ahn noted that because it was a two-person piece, it was extremely taxing physically. \”One performer tackled four roles. The production demanded a lot of physical and emotional energy,\” she said.
Ahn debuted with Wonder Girls in 2007 and rose to fame with hits like \”Tell Me\” and \”Nobody.\” Since shifting to acting, she has appeared in a number of films and series, including Train to Busan, Missing: They Were There, and Scandal in Daechi-dong.
