[By Im Si-ryeong, Sports Today] Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan and Halle Berry lead an all-star cast in Crime 101. The film’s new clip, “The Art of Crime,” has intensified buzz around the project.
On March 25, the team behind Crime 101 released the clip, which offers a glimpse of the taut suspense its star-studded cast delivers.
The unpredictable crime thriller centers on Davis (Chris Hemsworth), a meticulous jewel thief who targets Highway 101, and Detective Lou (Mark Ruffalo), the dogged investigator on his trail. When their paths collide, events spiral into a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
The clip focuses on Davis, a legendary thief who leaves no trace, and the other characters driven by different desires. Early on, Sharon (Halle Berry), an insurance broker who handles wealthy clients, tells Davis—who approaches her with a proposal—”You seem like someone with secrets,” a tense exchange that shows them cautiously sizing each other up. Detective Lou later warns, “He goes after jewels, cash and high-value items only. He leaves no DNA and is gone in an instant,” underscoring Davis’s elusiveness along Highway 101 and hinting at a chase with unpredictable turns.
Filmmakers describe the picture as “populated by fully realized characters” and as a “genre film that delivers thrills while giving viewers something to think about.” Those comments highlight the characters’ complex motivations and the film’s crisp, well-crafted suspense. Punchy lines—”No matter how much money you make, it will never be enough,” and “See me again and you die”—arrive amid edge-of-your-seat scenes, deepening curiosity about the tangled relationships and sudden reversals. Finally, the principal cast praise one another—”Everyone delivered powerful performances,” and “It was a joy to work with these incredible actors”—suggesting a finely tuned ensemble born from an incomparable lineup and raising expectations further.
Meanwhile, Crime 101 opens in South Korea’s Megabox theaters nationwide on April 8.
