[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] ENA’s Climax served up a series of unpredictable twists that shifted the show’s power dynamics.
Episode 3, which aired on the 23rd, pushed the truth behind O Gwang-jae’s murder back into the spotlight and marked a turning point for the characters and their alliances.
The episode reexamined the seven-year-old killing of O Gwang-jae, moving the plot into a new phase. As Park Jae-sang prepared for his release, old truths resurfaced, and a recording in his possession turned into a high-stakes bargaining chip. Tensions rose as competing interests collided over that tape. The story further suggested that the couple Bang Tae-seop (Ju Ji-hoon) and Chu Sang-ah (Ha Ji-won) may have been involved in the murder, peeling back layers of their carefully managed public images.
Under mounting pressure from inside the organization, Bang Tae-seop abruptly left the prosecution and leapt into politics, announcing himself as the Creation Party’s first recruit — a move that shook up the established order. At the same time, the episode revealed tangled past ties, promises and betrayals between Park Jae-sang and Chu Sang-ah, raising the emotional stakes. The plot also linked to the Han Ji-soo case, offering fresh clues about where the chain of tragedies began.
With the fate of the recording still unresolved and characters increasingly pointing fingers, viewers are left wondering which choices will trigger the next catastrophe. Power and desire collide ever more fiercely in Climax, which airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on ENA and is also available on KT Genie TV and Disney+.
