[Sports Today Reporter Lim Si-ryeong] The Man Who Lives with the King has climbed to No. 3 on South Korea’s all-time box office chart.
According to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS), on the 22nd — the film’s 47th day in theaters — The Man Who Lives with the King surpassed 14.75 million admissions, reaching a cumulative total of 14,757,118 and moving into third place on the country’s all-time list.
Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, the film follows a village leader who volunteers for exile to revive his town and a young, deposed monarch who is also sent away.
The movie has sparked a \”Wangsa-nam\” craze with its deep emotional resonance and overwhelming audience response, and it has now broken box-office records. On its 47th day, its total of 14,757,118 admissions surpassed the final tallies of the highest-grossing foreign film Avengers: Endgame (13,970,000), the domestic hit Ode to My Father (14,260,000), and Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (14,410,000), vaulting it to No. 3 on the all-time box office list.
Now in its seventh week, the film shows no signs of slowing down, and audiences are watching to see which new milestones The Man Who Lives with the King will reach next.
