[Sports Today reporter Im Si-ryeong] The period drama ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ has surpassed 14 million admissions.
On March 20, distributor Showbox announced the film exceeded 14 million cumulative admissions on its 45th day in release.
That performance places ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ fifth on South Korea’s all-time box-office list, behind ‘The Admiral: Roaring Currents’ (17.61 million), ‘Extreme Job’ (16.26 million), ‘Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds’ (14.41 million), and ‘Ode to My Father’ (14.62 million).
On the same day, it posted a 33.8% share of real-time ticket bookings, maintaining strong box-office momentum.
Set in 1457 at Cheongryeongpo, the film follows a village chief who volunteers for exile to revive his town and a young, deposed king sent into banishment. The cast includes Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, and Kim Min.
