[Variety] Three tvN dramas are making waves in the buzz rankings.
According to Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex TV-OTT integrated drama buzz rankings for early February, tvN’s “Undercover Miss Hong” claimed the top spot, with “Spring Fever” and “Give Me the Universe” securing second and seventh places respectively. All three shows landed in the TOP 10, dominating their respective weekday slots. The star power is evident, with five tvN drama cast members, led by Park Shin-hye and Ahn Bo-hyun, ranking in the TOP 10 for individual buzz. tvN has maintained its stronghold on the weekly broadcast network rankings for drama buzz for four straight weeks, solidifying its audience appeal.
“Undercover Miss Hong,” penned by Moon Hyun-kyung and helmed by Park Sun-ho and Na Ji-hyun, hit a new high with its eighth episode, scoring an impressive 11.1% viewership and topping its time slot across all channels for the third consecutive week. The show’s digital content has amassed over 300 million views, propelling its popularity. It’s also making international waves, ranking fifth among non-English shows on Netflix’s Tudum and cracking the TOP 10 in nine countries, including South Korea, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
“Spring Fever,” created by Kim Ah-jung and directed by Park Won-guk, is set to wrap up with its final episode. The penultimate installment drew a 6.5% viewership, marking a consistent upward trend. Its digital content has surpassed 500 million views. The show’s global appeal is undeniable, maintaining a TOP 10 position on Amazon Prime Video’s TV SHOWS chart for five weeks running and breaking into the TOP 10 in 47 countries, including the U.S., UK, and various European nations. The newcomer “Give Me the Universe,” which debuted on February 4, features a delightful romance between Bae In-hyuk and Noh Jung-ui. The show’s rapid pacing and Park Yoo-ho’s endearing portrayal of “Universe” have garnered praise from viewers. Despite being a fresh entry, it’s already ranked seventh in buzz for early February, with its digital content hitting 100 million views in its premiere week. The series blends youthful romantic comedy with heartwarming parenting storylines, building anticipation for future episodes.
A tvN spokesperson attributed the success to each show’s unique appeal resonating with audiences. They noted that while “Undercover Miss Hong” initially drew attention for Park Shin-hye’s performance, upcoming episodes will showcase ensemble dynamics. “Spring Fever” continues to charm viewers with its swoon-worthy male lead, while “Give Me the Universe” offers a feel-good mix of adorable baby moments and attractive cast chemistry. The network expressed gratitude for viewers’ support and promised to deliver diverse, engaging content throughout the week.
