Daniel Kim Views

Actor Park Jung-min offered candid assessments of his co-stars in a recent interview.

Appearing as a guest on the YouTube channel ‘Chungju Man’ on the 10th, Park engaged in a wide-ranging conversation with the host. The actor openly discussed his on-set challenges and shared his thoughts on fellow performers.

When asked about his approach to directorial guidance, Park remarked, “There are times when I wonder, ‘What kind of direction is this?’ But ultimately, it’s our job to bring the director’s vision to life.” He added, “Even if it feels odd at first, those feelings usually dissipate over time. In the end, we’re like instruments in the director’s orchestra.”

Addressing the topic of success and failure in the industry, Park referenced the hit comedy “Extreme Job.” He recalled, “Lee Dong-hwi sought my advice about taking the role. When he told me it was about cops running a chicken joint, I laughed and said he shouldn’t even hesitate. The concept alone was gold.”

Park was equally forthcoming about his experiences with co-stars. “I thrive when working with talented actors. It elevates my own performance,” he explained. “But it’s not about outshining each other. What matters is that everyone fulfills their role effectively.”

The conversation took an intriguing turn when Park discussed actors Jo In-sung and Shin Se-kyung. He lavished praise on Jo, stating, “That’s Jo In-sung for you. He’s generous with meals and drinks, but more importantly, he offers invaluable advice. He’s the quintessential senior actor.”

As for Shin Se-kyung, Park didn’t hold back his admiration. “She’s arguably the most beautiful celebrity I’ve encountered,” he said, adding, “But beyond that, I was immediately struck by her strength as an actress.”

True to form, Park skillfully deflected questions about upcoming projects with a playful, “That might be a spoiler,” drawing laughter from the host. The interview seamlessly blended humor and sincerity, with Chungju Man matching Park’s energy throughout their engaging dialogue.
