[TV Report] Australian actress Margot Robbie, renowned for her roles in “Barbie” and “Suicide Squad,” recently shared an unsettling experience involving an inappropriate gift from a fellow actor.
In a video interview with hip-hop magazine Complex on February 10, Robbie revealed that early in her career, a male co-star gifted her a book titled “French Women Don’t Get Fat.” She bluntly summarized the book’s message: “Basically, it was telling me to eat less.”
Recalling her immediate reaction, Robbie said, “When I got that book, I thought, ‘Damn, this is really irritating.’ It was ages ago, and I have no idea where that actor is now. He gave me that book to hint that I needed to lose weight. I was absolutely stunned.”
In response to this anecdote, Charli XCX, who stars alongside Robbie in the upcoming “Wuthering Heights,” quipped, “Well, that’s the end of his acting career.”
“French Women Don’t Get Fat,” penned by Mireille Guiliano, is a diet guide that draws on traditional French eating habits and lifestyle, offering advice for maintaining a healthy body and mind.
Margot Robbie, who hails from Australia, shot to global stardom with her breakout role in “The Wolf of Wall Street.” She has since appeared in numerous Hollywood blockbusters, including “Suicide Squad,” “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,” and “Barbie.”
Robbie is set to grace the silver screen again in “Wuthering Heights,” slated for North American release on the 13th. This adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel features Robbie as the lead character, Catherine Earnshaw, promising intense performances alongside Jacob Elordi.
