Andabin, son of the late acclaimed actor Ahn Sung-ki and a talented painter and installation artist in his own right, recently shared a poignant tribute to his father.
On the 10th, Andabin took to social media to announce his solo exhibition, writing, “Dad, this has become the only solo exhibition I couldn’t tell you about.”
He added, “I feel I’ve begun to grasp how to paint from the heart. Your words from the past are finally resonating with me. Thank you, Dad. I’ll continue to work diligently on my craft.”
Andabin’s heartfelt message at his first exhibition since his father’s passing has touched many.

Ahn Sung-ki, beloved as Korea’s “national actor,” tragically passed away on January 5th. He had been battling blood cancer when, on December 30th, he choked during a meal at home and went into cardiac arrest. Despite intensive care treatment, he succumbed to his illness six days later.
During the funeral, Andabin shared a letter his late father had written.
The letter contained touching advice: “I hope you become a person who is humble, honest, and has a big heart that loves others. Be dedicated to your work, punctual, and know how to maintain peace. Above all, never lose your ambition and courage. Don’t lose confidence; take on challenges, and you’ll see your path forward. Remember, son, that being a ‘good person’ is truly invaluable in this world.” These words struck a chord with many.
