Set in 1457, “The King and the Man” follows village chief Eom Heung-do (Yoo Hae-jin), who voluntarily exiles himself to revive his village, and the young deposed King Danjong (Park Ji-hoon). This sixth feature film and debut period piece for Jang blends historical fact with creative imagination to uncover Danjong’s hidden story.
