[mdtoday = Reporter Lee Ga-eul] Nongshim has teamed up with SobaJue, a buckwheat-focused restaurant that earned back-to-back recognition from the Michelin Guide, to launch a special menu built around its Baehongdong Makguksu. This collaboration is the third chapter of Nongshim’s 2026 “Nongshim Myeon-ga” series, in which the brand partners with noteworthy dining spots to reimagine noodle dishes for a modern audience.
Located in Seoul’s Mapo District, SobaJue is known for inventive tasting menus centered on buckwheat. The restaurant was named to the Michelin Selected list in both 2025 and 2026 and has been featured on several cooking shows—credentials that made it an ideal partner for Nongshim’s Myeon-ga project.
The collaborative starter, Baehongdong Tomato Makguksu, layers Baehongdong’s buckwheat noodles with Baehongdong sauce, tsuyu (a soy-based Japanese seasoning), and minari oil (Korean water parsley) to build bright, nuanced flavor. Oven-roasted tomatoes, perilla leaves, sliced boiled pork, and crisped fried buckwheat add contrasting textures and balance the dish.
SobaJue will include the course featuring this dish on its tasting menu for a limited run through June 22.
A Nongshim spokesperson said, “Working with a Michelin-listed dining spot has transformed a beloved Baehongdong Makguksu into an elevated course dish. Through the Nongshim Myeon-ga project, we’ll keep offering consumers distinctive culinary experiences that highlight Nongshim products.”
