[Sports Seoul | Reporter Jo Seon-woo] Ottogi revealed on April 21 that it’s refreshing the Ramen Research Center and Cooking School it runs with KidZania.
Ottogi has been operating the Ramen Research Center and Cooking School inside KidZania for 16 years to help kids develop a positive relationship with cooking. At the Ramen Research Center, little ones don researcher uniforms and make cup noodles themselves. At the Cooking School, children follow hands-on programs to prepare dishes using Ottogi products.
Both attractions ranked first and second in annual visitor numbers last year, and together they’ve welcomed more than 2.22 million guests since opening.
The renovation zeroes in on sharper program design and more polished spaces so kids can fully immerse themselves in each activity. At the Seoul Cooking School, Ottogi added a new ketchup-based menu: Bulgeunmal Ketchup Rice & Ketchup Heart Potatoes.
In Busan, the company completely revamped the Ramen Research Center and Cooking School facilities. They improved the flow and layout to make the experience more comfortable, and refreshed the decor with Ottogi’s signature yellow and the official character, “Yellows,” to create a livelier vibe.
To celebrate the update, Ottogi is hosting an event marking the ketchup’s 55th anniversary. The “Ketchup’s 55th Birthday Party: Play, Snap Photos, Get Gifts!” runs from April 24 through May 5 at the central plaza on the 5th floor of KidZania Busan.
Visitors can enjoy a 4×4 picture-matching game featuring food illustrations that pair well with ketchup, a 55th-anniversary photo zone, and a variety of other activities.
An Ottogi spokesperson said, “This renovation strengthens both the hands-on content and the physical spaces. We will continue to expand interactive programs designed from a child’s perspective.” blessoo@sportsseoul.com
