The MBC variety show ‘Hangout with Yoo?’ recently visited a beloved restaurant that’s about to close its doors.
On the April 18 broadcast, the show’s cast went to the restaurant after receiving a viewer’s request.
With 50 years of history behind it, the longtime eatery is preparing to shut down. It’s even known for once letting host Yoo Jae-suk use the restroom. The visit was prompted by a fan’s heartfelt story about their love for the restaurant’s jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork).
When asked if the woman who works there would be leaving as well, she replied, “I guess so. I’ve been here 16 years,” a response that surprised the cast.
When bowls of cheonggukjang and jeyuk bokkeum arrived, everyone first complimented the aroma. Joo Woo-jae said, “This is exactly the kind of meat I like.”
Yoo Jae-suk added, “I knew it — I saw it that dawn and I could tell it would be like this.” Jung Jun-ha chimed in, “Regulars are really going to miss this flavor.”
